“Navigating the Storm: A Plea for Unity and Change in South Sudan”?

Dear friends, imagine South Sudan as a ship in a big storm, and President Salva Kiir is the one driving it. Despite the storm and people asking him to change direction, he keeps going the same way.

He tried to meet with President Biden and the Secretary of State at the UN meeting, but he couldn't. This shows that the world is worried about the bad things he's been accused of doing since December 2013.

The UN Security Council should be like a lighthouse, guiding us away from danger. But they're not doing enough. If President Kiir really did those bad things, they should be trying to stop him.

President Kiir is also getting help from Russia. But what can Russia give us? More weapons that could hurt our people?

When he spoke at the UN meeting, it was like a captain who can't read his map. He had trouble reading his speech and looked weak. It makes us wonder if he can lead us properly.

For the 2024 elections, we need a new leader who is strong and really cares about South Sudan. It's sad that we have to deal with these problems.

President Kiir said he wants to "Rebuild Trust and Reignite Global Solidarity" at the UN meeting. But he hasn't done what he promised in the South Sudan peace agreement (R-ARCISS). This makes us question if he really wants to rebuild trust and unity.

In the end, we need to make sure our leaders do what's right. We should talk about these issues and find peaceful solutions. Let's hope for a better future for South Sudan.

As our national anthem says, 'Oh God! We praise and glorify you For your grace on South Sudan Land of great abundance Uphold us united in peace and harmony¹.' Let's keep this spirit of unity and harmony alive as we navigate these challenging times."
